Banksia Delights

Navigating the world as a new mum and artist meant that I noticed different aspects of my surroundings and especially the interior of our home.

There is a time at the end of each day when the sun shines through the windows of my studio space and casts shadows of Banksia branches and leaves onto the walls. This coincided with the time my baby girl had a nap, when I got to enjoy some precious studio time. These works are an exploration of the light, shadows, and new growth of that Banksia tree outside my window which coincides with my own growth and change. It’s also a reminder of the wonder of the simple and fun things in the world.
