FAQ
The process of commissioning a mural/painting
First, complete the form above with a bit of a brief and tell me about yourself
SCOPE - I’ll get in touch to check in, make sure we’re on the same page with the scope
QUOTE - I will then send you a quotation based on the dimensions of the work/wall/s/space, the texture of the wall, the location and the access requirements (and framing etc for paintings)
CONFIRMATION - Once the quote is accepted I will draw up an initial 50% deposit invoice to lock in the painting date and commence design work
DESIGN - I send over a detailed questionnaire to help me get to know you/your family/your business/the site in order to create a site-specific and unique work that can tell your story or the story of the land
APPROVAL - You have a chance to see mockups of the design in advance and an opportunity to make amendments to colour palette/design For paintings I do not provide mockups/sketches but I welcome you to take part in the process through process photographs
DELIVERY - Mural installation takes place over a couple of days with the help of assistants and depends on the weather if outdoors. Hire of access equipment is part of the initial quotation so no surprises. Paintings will be delivered by courier or myself
CONTENT CREATION – high res photography/time lapse packages are available to capture the process and final work.
The investment
The cost of my murals/works varies as it depends on factors like the detail of the design, the dimensions of the work/wall, the texture of the wall, access to the space and location.
Murals start at $2,000 +gst Paintings start at $800 + gst
Timeframe
I usually try to work backwards from the deadline and allow plenty of time for weather contingencies. I often book work six months in advance but if you have a hard deadline I make an effort to move things around to squeeze in projects!
Do I get to see the design before?
For murals, YES! A mockup will land in your inbox and you’ll have a chance to see it before I paint
For paintings, no but I will send progress photographs
What happens if my mural gets vandalised?
For public murals, I recommend a graffiti coating that will allow you to pressure wash any graffiti off the work
