A mural for a private client in Balmain, Sydney

A love letter to colour, family and the powerful yet gentle ties we have to each other and to our environment. The work will act as a backdrop to intimate family moments, sharing meals and time at home so while vibrancy and playfulness were a priority, the organic and soft nature of the shapes are a calming influence.

The family’s favourite trees form the solid base of this work while plants and flowers dreamt up for the space add more intricately detailed shapes and points of interest. Soft, watery layers of paint ground this work and connect it to the landscape further and allow colours and textures to seep into one another; the same way a family is deeply interconnected.
